Do you know the difference between a Mercury-Safe vs. a Mercury-Free Dentist?
Safe Biocompatible Mercury-Free Dentistry by Dr. Vladimir Gashinsky, Millburn, New Jersey Dentist

For over a decade, Dr. Gashinsky has been supportive of the health and environmental concerns of his patients. While science and the dental profession continue the debate over the issue of mercury fillings, we understand those who request replacement of amalgams for personal peace of mind.
Dr. G is a mercury-free, mercury-safe dentist who understands the need to replace mercury fillings with biocompatible restorations and follows the mercury removal treatment protocols that are recommended by the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT).
What Makes Dr. Gashinsky a Mercury-Free, Mercury-Safe Dentist?
- Dr. G
understands that mercury
fillings can be extremely toxic to the human body.
- Dr. G
recognizes that mercury
vapor, released from mercury
dental fillings, comes out even faster when the mercury
fillings are heated.
- Dr. G
recognizes that the grindings from removed mercury
fillings should never touch the gums or cheeks or the floor of the mouth, and therefore a rubber dam needs to be used for the removal of mercury
fillings.
- Dr. G
recognizes that mercury
vapor from the mercury
filling removal process needs to be removed from the room air, to be sure the process is safe for the patient, the doctor, and his staff.
- Dr. G
follows protocol recommended by the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT)
- Dr. G
was one of the first to install a mercury
separator in his office, to filter mercury
from waste water leaving the office rather than taxing water treatment plants. These systems are now mandatory throughout New Jersey and other regions of the nation.
Dr. Gashinsky is a member of the following associations:
- International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT)
- Fellow Institute of Nutritional Dentistry (FIND)

We know that:
Mercury is one of the most toxic substances in the world and is a powerful poison that causes health hazards. Mercury vapor is continuously emitted from dental fillings, accumulates in the body over time and is harmful to the environment. After it (an amalgam filling) is taken out of a patient’s mouth, it is treated as hazardous waste, but somehow, when it is in the patient’s mouth, it is not. Most people do not realize “silver” amalgam fillings contain 50% mercury and only 35% silver.
Mercury-Free Dentistry offers you many benefits:
- Non-Toxic
- Environmentally Friendly
- Biocompatible
- Composites bond to the teeth making tooth structure stronger
- Reduces the risk for cracked and sensitive teeth
